Rob Caldwell, Founder and CEO
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rob spent much of his youth with his mechanically and electrically inclined father. Rob’s interest in electronics led him to DeVry University in Atlanta, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering. After working as Chief Engineer with Communications Concepts Inc. and Rockwell Collins at NASA’s Space Shuttle Logistics Depot, Rob attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and received his master’s degree in Technical Management.
Rob’s passion for TV led him to the Golf Channel, where he worked as the Director of Engineering and Operations, responsible for managing transmission operations, project engineering, maintenance engineering, master control and facilities. Rob also worked in 3D graphics/animation, training, and interactivity producing projects for the Golf Channel, Seagram’s, and Hilton Corp. In 2001, Rob was approached to assist a start-up government contractor with proposal efforts, specifically computer-based training.
In 2002, Rob founded Obor Digital. Over the past 12 years, Rob expanded the company to provide training and products, including Zeus, which remains a leader in the U.S., with customers such as NBC, Discovery Networks, QVC, and many more. In 2008, Obor began providing Zeus solutions to the U.S. military to manage communications equipment, which led to requests for Zeus operators, as well as additional positions to include logisticians, trainers and field support personnel.
Kimberly Sheldon, Chief Financial Officer
Kimberly joined Obor Digital, LLC in January of 2009. She was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in March of 2011. Her addition brought more than 20 years of financial management experience in the technology and government contracting industries to Obor’s management team. She is responsible for providing guidance and direction with regard to Obor’s strategic growth plans and overseeing financial functions including financial reporting, budgeting, operational analysis, treasury and capital structuring.
Prior to joining Obor, Kim was the controller for Mnemonics, Inc., a satellite communications radio equipment engineering and commercial manufacturing company located in Melbourne, Florida, for over 13 years. Previously, she held accounting management and human resource positions for other DOD/DOS contractors on Patrick AFB, FL and Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Since joining Obor, Kim has provided sound leadership of our financial functions during an important period of growth for the company. Her depth of knowledge, strong accounting and compliance experience in the government services and technology industries and overall expertise in financial management makes her a key player in Obor’s executive management team. She is instrumental in the successful leadership of the company.
